CBS/Infinity Throws a Block for Islamic Terror

In yet another example of the left-leaning media running interference for Islamic terrorism, WorldNetDaily has reported the refusal on the part of CBS/Infinity Radio to air paid commercial announcements for a nonpartisan symposium on terrorism on the grounds that "people might be too emotionally affected" by it.

Entitled The Radical-Islamist Threat to World Peace and National Security, the symposium will be held in Plantsville, Connecticut on September 21. It has been endorsed by Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), who plans to attend, and will feature terrorism expert Harvey Kushner, Arab-American journalist Brigitte Gabriel, author and counter-terrorism analyst Laura Mansfield, and Jihad Watch's Robert Spencer.

But you won't be hearing about it from CBS. After all, advertising an event where Islamic terrorism will be discussed is "too controversial to be aired at this time."

"At this time" apparently means "in the wake of the savage 7/7 terrorist attacks in London." Not that any right-thinking journalist would call the attacks savage or even terrorist.

CBS/Infinity affiliate WTIC in Hartford evidently agreed to air eight 60-second commercials for the symposium, but then canceled after the law was laid down by the company's legal division. Perhaps they were afraid CAIR might sic lawyers on them for being even loosely associated with people willing to confront the threat of Islamic terror. Or maybe CBS's legal division and organizations like CAIR just happen to be on the same wavelength.
