Antiwar Lieutenant Governor Crashes Marine Funeral

Posted by Dave Blount at July 25, 2005 5:34 PM

Adding further proof that there is no shortage of demented moonbats holding high office, Pennsylvania's Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll crashed the funeral of Marine Staff Sgt. and former police officer Joseph Goodrich, who was killed in Iraq.

During the distribution of communion, the uninvited guest took the opportunity to hand out her business card and demand the identities of mourners in an apparent attempt to campaign.

"I want you to know our government is against this war," Knoll announced to Goodrich's outraged relatives, presumably referring to the state government of the Ed Rendell Administration.

"Here you have a soldier who was killed — dying for his country — in a church full of grieving family members and she shows up uninvited," observed Goodrich's sister-in-law, Rhonda Goodrich. "It made a mockery of Joey's death."

Although quite a few Marines and police officers were on hand, no security arrangements had been thought necessary to keep out disrespectful riffraff.

Thanks to V the K for the tip.
