The Difference Between Abortion and Murder
Newsday reports that a man named Gerardo Flores will face a life sentence for murder after helping his girlfriend abort her baby. The girlfriend, Erica Basoria, admits to asking Flores to help her cause the miscarriage. Since Basoria punched herself while Flores stepped on her, it isn't possible to tell who actually killed the baby. However, Basoria will not be facing prosecution, because of her right to abortion that the Founding Fathers allegedly encrypted into the Constitution.
Sorry if the title led you to believe that I know the difference between abortion and murder.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that a pregnant woman would ask to be pummelled, and pummel herself, in order to induce a miscarriage.

Sounds like he ought to have a pretty good case since doctors can't be convicted of murder. Other than the brutality of it, I can't see what he did as being much different.
