Oh VH, you are on a roll. These last two posts are about my top two favorite left-wing losers. Keep 'em coming.

Most excellent mon'. That's it. You've convinced me that I need to learn flash.

Way cool, VH! And... a VERY GOOD POINT as well! ;-)

All he said was the truth...is there something that says he can't tell the truth? Sometimes the truth hurts.

The discussion of the significance of the filibuster in protecting the rights of the minority in the American democratic process has degenerated to single word epithets? Not good.

Who said anything about the significance of the filibuster in protecting the rights of the minority in the American democratic process?

My apologies. I read this in relation to what IS being discussed in the Senate (filibuster). Since the administration hasn't presented a proposal to correct the cash problems of Social Security what would the minority leader be responding to? It appears that his silence on this issue is an echo.

Anybody who thinks the Democrats are fighting for "minority rights" is either naive, stupid, or sucked in the last two bong hits too deep. The Democrats are just carrying out the Marching orders of the ultra-leftist Ralph Neas and People for the American Way. (Plus, there's leftist relic Carl Levin, who is miffed because one of his on-laws wasn't confirmed for the bench under William "No Pants" Clinton.)
If the Democrats believed these judges really were too extreme, they'd bring them up for debate and use the floor of the senate to show how extreme they are. But they can't risk that because the judges are more mainstream than they are. They call Priscilla Owen "extreme" because she supports parental consent laws for minors seeking abortions. Problem is, so do 80% of voters.

Actually, Reid et al. do care about "minority rights" — so long as you define the term to mean the right of the minority to use an activist judiciary to run roughshod over the elected branches and impose its will on the majority. The poorly named Democrats are starting to realize that it is not possible for them to rule democratically because people will not vote for their agenda. They've been able to cram their lunacy down people's throats from the bench, but that tactic will not work if constructionists who respect the Constitution become too numerous at high-level courts. Thus the filibusters.

Ans as for Social Security, I think the Democrat position that as long as it can be "fixed" by a massive debilitating tax increase (Robert Wexler), or by printing money to make up the shortfall (Howard Dean, Paul Krugman, James Carville), there is no crisis in social security.

Mea CUlpa. Howard Dean also supports the massive crippling tax increase.
