The Subtle Symbolism of Revenge of the Sith

George Lucas — who has proven that money cannot buy brains by buying into the Iraq = Vietnam meme — is believed by some to have injected a slight trace of moonbattery into his latest blockbuster. Or are people just imagining this?

I saw the flick. OK, Padme mouthes some pious sentiments about the triumph of dictatorship being accompanied by applause, but it's SO generic. I think it's ridiculous to impute a current political context to this one line, and I saw nothing else in it with a present political "message."

After seeing Revenge o' the Sith this weekend with my teenaged sons and some of their friends, we got to riffin' and somehow ended up combining SWEp3:ROTS with Office Space. An example:

Yoda (Actual Line in Revenge of the Sith:): Good relations with the wookies I have. (Our addition) And if lucky the wookies are, show them my "oh" face, I will... oh... oh... oh...
