Socialized Medicine in Action
In a little foretaste of the sort of lunacy we can expect if Hillary gets another crack at our healthcare system, New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi has revealed that from the beginning of 2000 through the end of last March, 198 "Level 3" sex offenders have received Medicaid-reimbursed Viagra after being convicted of a sex crime such as rape, sexual abuse, or sexual conduct against a child.
"Level 3" means the truly rotten apples — the ones that even our mollycoddling courts admit will be back for more once they are let out of jail. A two-year-old baby and a 90-year-old woman are among the victims of the lucky beneficiaries.
As Hevesi observes, "The whole purpose of Viagra is to increase sexual performance, is to increase libido, is to increase blood flow, to increase the capacity of the user of the medication to perform sexually."
Westchester County DA Jeanine Pirro notes that she has prosecuted sex fiends who used Viagra before preying on their victims.
But in 1998, the Department of Health and Human Services informed states that any Medicaid program that covers prescription drugs must also cover Viagra "when medically necessary" — on penalty of financial sanctions.
Viagra costs $10 per pill, but that's okay, taxpayers have plenty of money.

So let me get this straight ...
All I have to do if I want to get some viagra for free is commit a heinous sex crime and do some time in the slammer? Hmmm ....
Ya know, if it wasn't for my family and friends, I might just sign up...

Of course there are people out there who might follow this line of thinking and call it reasoning.
Jay, you are right on the money. NOTHING should be free, and nothing is. Somewhere along the line, SOMEBODY paid for that viagra or whatever. It's just the law of nature.
