MSM Propaganda Takes a Turn for the Uglier on Law & Order

It's hardly news that the networks use not only their news programs, but fictional shows to promote their left-wing agenda. But the season finale of Law & Order really went over the top, indulging in the most extreme stereotypes of people who don't share their ideology or their coastal zip codes, and going after House Majority Leader Tom DeLay by name.

While the Law & Order team hunt what they assume to be a maniacal white supremacist, one of the characters, Detective Alexandra Eames, proposes that they "should put out an APB for somebody in a Tom DeLay T-shirt."

When another character proposes that the killer is from the Mountain States, Detective Eames sagely observes, "Home of a lot of white supremacist groups."

In the end, the killer turns out not to be a white supremacist after all, possibly to make the plot a little less predictable. Imagine if the characters had suspected that the killer was black. Would we have gotten dialog like this?

"Why don't we put out an APB for somebody in an Barack Obama T-shirt?"
"I think the killer is from Detroit."
"Detroit, eh? Home to a lot of darkies..."

Fortunately not, because it would be bigoted, wouldn't it?

But at least the show's creator, Dick Wolf, issued an apology. Here it is:

Up until today, it was my impression that all of our viewers understood that these shows are works of fiction, as is stated in each episode. But I do congratulate Congressman DeLay for switching the spotlight from his own problems to an episode of a TV show.

To which the Media Research Center responds:

Of course, no one's attention would be on the name in the show if Wolf's writers hadn't put it into the script themselves. And when "fiction" employs the names of real-world figures how can the fiction writers expect to avoid real-world scrutiny, especially when they hold that real person up as a hero to racist murderers?

Unfortunatley, L & O has pretty much always been on the side of the Left. But it sucks even worse now that Lenny Briscoe's gone.

The typical left apology is not an apology at all but a furtherance of their propaganda. The left's depth of tollerance toward bigotry that serves its own ends is unfathomable.

The Right's only hope is that, if it maintains the high ground, eventually The People will notice. The recent elections in 2000, 2002, and 2004 suggest a trend that is hopeful. The risks are such escapades as the 48-hr meltdown of the ridiculous judiciary appointment deal by the Seven RINO Dwarfs, that simply make the Right out to be fools.
