Rachel Corrie's Cult Targets Caterpillar
Rachel Corrie, aka Saint Pancake, so perfectly personified moonbattery that a cult has formed to worship her memory. Readers with a morbid interest in the phenomenon of left-wing extremism crossing over into full-blown insanity will recall that the willful stupidity that characterized Corrie's ideology caused her to stand in front of an Israeli bulldozer whose driver was unable to see her, thus transforming the screeching psychopath into a giant Fruit Roll-Up.
Proving that moonbattery can run in the family, Corrie's parents responded to her demise by suing Caterpillar for making the bulldozer she got herself squished by.
Now her cult is moving beyond lawsuits to direct action. It appears that next Wednesday will be remembered by history as the "International Day of Action Against Caterpillar." Righteous crusaders are encouraged to gather at noon at Northern Trust Bank in Chicago (50 S LaSalle), where Caterpillar shareholders are believed be meeting. By building bulldozers, Caterpillar has been "profiting from human rights violations," which will not be tolerated by the Stop CAT Coalition.
"Smaller actions" are promised prior to the feature presentation at Northern Trust. The demonstration in front of the bank is intended to be of the law-abiding variety, but the Corrie cultists "support a diversity of tactics by affinity groups" — which evidently would include any groups violently opposed to Israel's right to defend itself from terrorists.
