Lenora Fulani and Left-Wing Anti-Semitism
Anti-Semitism is getting to be the pink elephant in the room of left-leaning politics — too big and too ugly to ignore. The latest flare-up is the embarrassment caused by loony-tunes moonbat Lenora Fulani, who has been an important political ally of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The New York Times reports that Fulani refuses to disavow comments from more than a decade ago to the effect that Jews "had to sell their souls to acquire Israel" and had to "function as mass murderers of people of color" to keep it.
Asked about these comments last week, Fulani belied her attempts to recreate herself as a relative moderate by responding, "It's raising issues that I think need to be explored."
These days Fulani is a "high-profile official" with the Independence Party, whose support the nominally "Republican" Mayor Bloomberg needs to stand a chance in overwhelmingly Democratic NYC. Placed between a rock and a hard place, Bloomberg did the right thing, and told his WABC audience that he's extremely offended by Fulani's comments.
In 1988 and 1992, Fulani ran as the presidential candidate for the leftist New Alliance Party (NAP), which was known for its anti-Semitism. Her All Star Project theater group produced a play entitled Crown Heights, which reputedly put a very anti-Jewish spin on the infamous pogrom of that name.
Left-wing anti-Semitism is hardly limited to Fulani and her Marxist friends. An article in the National Post gives a good overview of the linkage between anti-Semitism and the anti-globalization movement.
Zvi Shtauber, formerly Israel's ambassador to Britain, came home from that country outraged by the prevalence of anti-Semitism among left-wing politicians. "All along we were afraid of the Right. Now there is an unholy alliance between the Left and Islamic fundamentalists," Shtauber perceptively observed.
Even the left-wing Melbourne Indymedia admits that the Left has "tacitly sided with those who condone or practice Anti Semitism" and that "the main defenders of Jews are from the Right, both within the Jewish community and in the larger political sphere."
WorldNetDaily points out that left-wing anti-Semitism is nothing new — it goes all the way back to Karl Marx. Today left-wing anti-Semitism is mostly channeled into hostility to Israel, as in Fulani's foolish remarks.
Yet for reasons beyond my comprehension, many Jews continue to support the Left — for now.

Comments
There are still many people, who regardless of their ethinicity or religion, support the LEFT ideology although basically this is a criminal ideology and the facts should be cinvincing.
BUt..
Lenin, Stalin and Mao didn't get it right but we will, for we are wiser - they say.

What a vile, ignoble wretch. The new antisemtism on the left isn't ironic or surprising in the least anymore. It's just sickening and shameful. America needs to remain the best friend in the world to Jews and to Israel. If we lose that, we'll lose our soul.
That's a superlative round-up of links too, Van Helsing. It's always great to see that.
