Justice on the Way
Hasan Akbar, a pathetic character who became a Muslim, joined the army, and went on a rampage at a base in Kuwait in March 2003, killing two fellow Americans and wounding 14, has been found guilty of premeditated murder. Fortunately, it appears he is on his way to death row.
Akbar's despicable crimes were motivated by his religious beliefs, combined with the sort of paranoid notions then prevalent in the mainstream media that US soldiers were in the Middle East for the purpose of killing Muslims. He snuck around at night, shooting his comrades in the back and throwing grenades at them. Regrettably, he wasn't killed on the spot. Anyone watching the events unfold on CNN may recall how comically long they held out before giving his name or letting on that he's a Muslim. If it wasn't for Fox News, we probably still wouldn't know.
The case draws attention due not only to the appalling nature of Akbar's crimes, but to the appalling nature of the defense that was shamelessly attempted by his lawyer and wisely rejected by the jury. The crux of it, to quote AP, was that "the defendant was sufficiently mentally ill — though not insane — to be confused and fearful about the impending invasion of Iraq."
Imagine if everyone who was sufficiently mentally ill to be confused about the invasion of Iraq was essentially granted a license to kill. John Kerry would be pitching grenades at the Republican side of the Senate. On Hardball, Tweety would be executing guests on camera instead of just browbeating them. And why should Sean Penn settle for punching out photographers?
We can all be thankful this case was tried by the military and not San Francisco's Ninth Circuit, which no doubt would have granted Akbar a substantial monetary compensation for his pain and suffering before letting him free.

The sad part is he has probably ruined any chance of Muslims serving along side non mulsims in a conflict that may involve muslims.
You know of course if he is put to death, you (the Americans) will be accused of being a bunch of muslim haters.
I swear you can't win.

We don't care. At least I don't care. The idiot went too far and killed those who would have died for him. He needs to die himself.

Being called a muslim-hater by a muslim is like being called a racist by Jesse Jackson. Who cares? Bring 'er on. Fry this pig in pork grease.

You're right Patrick. To some, we Americans can't win. Some people will bend over backwards to find anything to bash the USA on when they turn a blind eye to events that don't fall into their bash the USA agenda. We are used to it. We've been called everything else, one more moniker won't hurt.
They need to make an example of this guy and they shouldn't waste any time doing it.

See Leo Kearse, who has gone from annoying the Rottweiler Empire to being eDog von Winter's personal ass-monkey at edogvw.blogspot.com
There's an example of someone who will stop at nothing-- my favorite was his tale of his 12th or 13th root-canal, which he concluded more or less by saying, "Well at least I don't have to rely on American health-care!!!"
Notice how in the EUro-peon press, the 40 percent of Americans who don't have private health coverage are portrayed as the 40 million Americans who "don't have access to healthcare"!!!

Exactly right. And to some Americans, the USA bashing happens depending on who's in the White House. The rest don't care who it is, they're just self-loathing scum. Or in the case of Eurabia, envious and self-loathing.
Anyway, this fucktard will hopefully get some prison justice while he waits for his due. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the rapists or child molesters in the joint making "friends" with him.

Hey there, LC Beth!
I doubt he'll get any justice in the brig-- military prisons are pretty no-nonsense places, and they don't get to just make someone their asswife as easily as the scum in GP at the state or even federal level.
On the other hand, be assured that he'll have to walk a gauntlet of his peers at some point before he's executed.

True, he likely won't get any justice in a military prison. Too bad the military prisons aren't used only for non-violent (and non-treacherous) crimes.
That said, they'll be able to keep him from communicating with The Enemy™ better in there than in a civilian prison. I worry about that Moussaoui being in prison out of solitary confinement.
