Air America Airhead Is Repeat Offender
Posted by Dave Blount at April 29, 2005 7:08 AM
It seems last Monday wasn't the first time left-wing klaxon Randi Rhodes attempted to draw attention to her asinine opinions by advocating the assassination of President Bush.
As you've probably heard, her show on the thoroughly moribund Air America recently featured a skit suggesting that Bush be shot for attempting to reform Social Security.
The skit went like this:
A spoiled child [Bush] is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he's gonna fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [sound of three shotgun blasts].
The AAARP — the American Association of Armed Retired People [sound of rifle being cocked]. Just try it, you little bastard.
Rhodes has enjoyed some rare attention resulting from the Drudge report that the Secret Service has investigated the possibility of prosecuting, since quite obviously it is against the law to get on the radio and advocate killing the President.
"I feel bad that anybody would feel threatened by comedy," said Rhodes, by way of apology. She admitted that the skit wasn't funny (without admitting that it wasn't intended to be), while demanding that someone investigate "Ann Coulter's mouth."
As if Rhodes were in some way comparable with Ann Coulter.
Patently insincere apologies aside, Rhodes is no first-time offender. Last May, according to WorldNetDaily, she "imitated the sound of gunfire while saying somebody ought to take the president fishing and then shoot him."
Are there any lawyers in the audience who can explain why this horrid woman isn't in a cell next to Squeaky Fromme's?
