Down with the Easter Bunny
Here's another interesting link from the MaryHunter. It seems not even the Easter Bunny is innocuous enough to be safe from the politically correct campaign to eradicate all meaning from our culture. Since there is nothing particularly Christian about the Easter Bunny himself, he isn't banned — just his name is. Suitably vacuous alternatives to be found in Florida shopping malls include the Garden Bunny, Baxter the Bunny and Peter Rabbit.
Due to his operating in a "multicultural community," mall manager Sam Hosen finds it prudent to "just remain neutral" on whether it is permissible to allow references to Christianity. Remaining neutral means that the word "Easter" is forbidden.
Easter egg hunts are now known less descriptively as just egg hunts.
When the Left has succeeded in eliminating all references to Christianity from our culture, which in large part grew out of Christianity, it will leave a gaping hole behind. They will need to replace the saints they have airbrushed out of history with new saints of their own creation. Hopefully churches can be saved from the wrecking ball, since all they really need to do is a little remodeling.

Well Cao, you have to admit the crosses could offend either the Muslims or the local atheists or, God forbids, both.

What people seem to miss is that Easter is really a westernization of the Pagan worship of Asherah. The Christian observance of Easter was yet another piggy-back on a pagan tradition in the hopes of co-opting newly-converted pagans into conforming to the Catholic traditions.
So banning the "easter" bunny to shoulder out Christianity is not just stupid, it's ignorant.
