ACLU Declares War on the United States
In concert with the ultra-Left lunatics at Human Rights First, the ACLU has cemented their wartime alliance with al-Qaeda by bringing an absurd lawsuit against our Secretary of Defense, as reported by Reuters and Associated Press.
Convinced that there is still propaganda to be wrung out of the freak occurrences at Abu Ghraib, these militant moonbats are hoping that they can cause more damage to our country with their law degrees and sanctimonious posturing than their overseas allies have been able to inflict with AK-47s and IEDs.
The premise of the suit is hardly new: Donald Rumsfeld, whose failure to behave like a spineless, limp-wristed bureaucrat enrages the Left, is guilty of torturing the sort of lowlife terrorists who brought us 9/11 and, given the opportunity the ACLU would like to grant them, will bring us much worse in the future.
Presumably not even the ACLU is sufficiently divorced from reality to think that Donald Rumsfeld, or anyone else above the rank of an enlisted reservist, sanctioned the fiasco at Abu Ghraib. However, he did sanction interrogation techniques that go slightly beyond withholding seconds on dessert — including stress positions, hooding, prolonged interrogations, isolation and sensory deprivation.
This will come as news to some, but interrogations in wartime are not expected to be pleasant. Anyone who confuses these techniques with torture is belittling the suffering of those who have endured real torture — usually at the hands of regimes the Left regards sympathetically.
Real torture goes beyond unpleasantness. It involves extreme pain and physical mutilation. In the ivory tower realm of fifth-column barristers this is probably impossible to comprehend. How could you make an ACLU lawyer grasp that having your tongue cut out, and your fingernails ripped off with pliers, is a more serious matter than having a hood put on your head?
The suit sets a new standard in absurdity. Not only is there zero evidence that Rumsfeld authorized torture, there is no evidence that any real torture even occurred. Worse, the ACLU is suing our country on behalf of foreign terrorists who were captured in battle on the other side of the world. This is the equivalent of suing FDR on behalf of Japanese kamikaze pilots during World War II. The fact that the ACLU isn't immediately laughed out of court is an indication of the corrosive inroads moonbattery has made into our judiciary.
Of course the ACLU will lose the suit; if they don't it will mean that our country has gone insane. But they don't need to win the suit to accomplish their goals. Just the fact that the suit is taking place — properly amplified as it surely will be by al-Jazeera and the rabidly anti-American overseas version of CNN — will provide crucial rhetorical ammunition to the terrorists we are at war with. This ought to please George Soros into reaching for his checkbook again.
But these nuisance suits have a purpose even more insidious than providing propaganda coups to Osama bin Laden & Co. An effect so obvious that it could only be an objective is to get our government so bogged down fending off lawyers that it will have a hard time fending off the next 9/11.
The next time thousands of Americans are murdered in a psychopathic homage to nihilism, the ACLU will have hands too bloodstained to ever come clean.

ACLU is rediculous, are we to believe that solders fought and died through many wars to defend there right to harm Rumsfeld?. Stand up for terrorists and give them free press?. Sickening to me.
