UNNBC

In light of the noise being made over the Government's admittedly inadvisable payments to Armstrong Williams and Maggie Gallagher, it is interesting to learn that an NBC reporter was recently purchased on behalf of the world's most pompous fraternity of anti-American moonbats, the United Nations.

WorldNetDaily reports that NBC correspondent Linda Fasula was paid off by the well-heeled UN lobby to apply the appropriate spin to her An Insider's Guide to the U.N., a whitewash so cloyingly disconnected from reality as to include lines like "It is hard to find anyone who can mount a serious criticism of Annan's performance as Secretary General." Cash came from zillionaire socialist Ted Turner's United Nations Foundation, as well as the Better World Campaign and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

Exactly how much cash was involved is a question to which Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media has not been able to extract an answer from Fasula.

Also unanswered is the question of why the part of the book dealing with Annan and Rwanda does not mention the "genocide fax," in which Annan refused a request for UN troops. This refusal resulted in the preventable deaths of 800,000 Tutsis and their sympathizers according to Kincaid, who also observes that "on one of the hottest stories around, the U.N. corruption scandal, NBC has been out to lunch."
