Judge Joyce Runs to Terrorists' Defense

Skeptics needing more evidence that moonbats have entered a de facto alliance with Islamic terrorists will be interested to learn that a judge has struck a righteous blow against the United States on behalf of terrorism and anarchy by ruling that unlawful combatants captured in Afghanistan and currently detained at Guantanamo Bay have the legal rights of US citizens, and are entitled to defense lawyers to challenge their imprisonment in court.

Judge Joyce Hens Green, who incidentally resembles something Norman Bates would keep in his basement, was appointed United States District Judge for the District of Columbia in 1979 by — surprise! — Jimmy Carter.

Astoundingly, Green referred to the foreign terrorists' right to due process under the Fifth Amendment — as if unlawful combatants captured in battle in a foreign country were even entitled to Geneva Convention protection, much less the rights afforded American citizens.

''What she's suggesting would transform a front-end common-sense determination by the military as to whether or not you qualify for prisoner of war status into a full-fledged criminal trial," observed legal analyst David Rivkin Jr., a former associate White House counsel. ''That is insane."

Twisting logic into shapes that would give M.C. Escher a headache, Green referred to the Americans who fought and died for the rights she saw fit to grant these al Qaeda/Taliban dregs at America's expense:

Although this nation unquestionably must take strong action under the leadership of the Commander in Chief to protect itself against enormous and unprecedented threats, that necessity cannot negate the existence of the most basic fundamental rights for which the people of this country have fought and died for well over two hundred years.

Of course, some of the Americans who fought and died for our rights (not our enemies' rights, Judge Joyce), died fighting the very terrorist vagabonds Green wants to set free.

Green hasn't yet ruled on whether the unlawful combatants qualify for driver's licenses, food stamps, and preferential admission to US colleges. Of course, they're already receiving the best health care they've ever experienced at no charge.

The present ruling conflicts with another recent ruling by the same court. Fortunately, it will soon find its way to the Supreme Court, which includes several judges who probably have a broad enough understanding of geography to be aware that Afghanistan is not one of the 50 states.

Ugh. She/he is repellant. She looks like Zombie Barbara Billingsley in Leave it to Beaver meets Dawn of the Dead.

Ward: "How was your day, honey?"
June: "BRAINS! BRAINS!"
