Post Election Selection Trauma: Yes, These People Have Mental Problems
PEST may be old news, but no blog devoted to placing moonbats in proper perspective could fail to document this fascinating phenomenon -- so what better topic for this blog's first post?
"Post Election Selection Trauma" (PEST) is a mental condition afflicting moonbats unable to come to grips with Bush's reelection. Symptoms include trembling, sleeplessness, hostility, listlessness, depression, and bizarre emotional outbursts. Treatment has consisted largely of nurturing the patients' childishness by encouraging them to vent their hatred of President Bush and America in general.
If the first step to getting better is admitting that you're sick, the PEST epidemic could be a positive development. Or it could be just another opportunity for the vampire class to suck up some easy money. Rather than take up the generous offers made by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to provide free counseling to those stricken with the disease, some moonbats have preferred to pay "professionals" to indulge them in their neuroses, outrageously passing the fees along to their insurance companies. As Center for Individual Freedom points out, insurance companies may not dare to deny these claims "lest they find themselves besieged by trial lawyers, who have an amazing ability to transmute trauma into treasure." Anyone wonder why health insurance has become unaffordable?
But is PEST really a new disease, or an old sickness by another name? According to Robert J. Gordon, American Health Association Executive Director (as quoted in Boca Raton News), "If you even mention religion, their faces turn blister-red as they shout at Bush.” Could this be diagnosed as Tourette Syndrome? Hebephrenic schizophrenia? Demonic possession? Or are we really only talking about severe cases of the neurosis formerly known as SoreLoserman Syndrome?
A common symptom of PEST is for suffers to assert their intention to leave the country --loudly, frequently, and with a characteristic lack of sincerity. It can only be hoped that future Republican victories will exacerbate the disease to the point that these promises are acted upon.
