Al Gore's Legacy Emerges in Ukrainian Election

Posted by Dave Blount at December 28, 2004 8:29 PM

Nut job and wannabe POTUS Al Gore may not have made it to the Oval Office, but apparently he did leave a legacy. As of today 100% of precincts have been counted in the Ukrainian revote, and the final preliminary results released by the Central Election Commission have 51.99% for Yushchenko vs. 44.19% for Viktor Yanukalgorovich I mean Yanukovych. Considering the election was such a squeaker, who can blame Yanukovych for refusing to concede? Why, he only needs about 2,000,000 hanging chads; let Putin arrange a recount, I have no doubt he'll find them.

Closer to home, the Ohio recount is over, and although Kerry picked up a few votes, he still came up well over 100,000 short. At least he had the grace to concede in a timely fashion, unlike his ambulance-chasing Howdy Doody look-alike sidekick, who continued barking that he would "fight for every vote" until the ground beneath his Gucci loafers crumbled away and he vanished into oblivion, hopefully never to return.
